Hi Guys,

I've been ripping favourite CD's to MP3 to get more onto 1 CD when I listen. I use the Microsoft Media Player to perform this task, but I find that the volume is very low on the recording. So much so that when I'm listening to my MP3's anywhere that there is sounds greater than quiet conversation, I can't hear.

Does anyone have an easy way to boost the volume on the MP3 product? (and yes, my volume is all the way up on my unit.)

You might not find my approach helpful (since I run on Linux and you're admitting to using Windows), but I use "Grip" (with CDParanoia enabled) to do my ripping, and k3b to author a new CD. These give me options to auto-adjust audio volume as I go.

What sort of volume do you get if you play the MP3s on your PC just after you rip them?

You may wish to consider trying a different ripper, or a different MP3 Encoder; Audacity (an audio editing program, available for Windows) suggests "CD-EX" as an option. Check documentation for encoding to MP3.

Easy ..

Get the free Audio Editor called Audacity ..

Open your MP3 then increase Gain and save.

Just Google for the program ..
