ripping off an audio cd

If you have an official music audio cd and you're trying to rip off the song tracks off that cd. How do you do it?

my computer keeps copying them as shortcuts, not the actual sound files.

Term: if you have windows media player, you can rip via that. There is a tab right below the toolbar that says "rip" and I don't think it means let out a loud fart lol.....

It's pretty automatic. Make sure you pick a bit rate over 128 though. Less than that and the sound quality blows.....

I use Audiograbber ,http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/ I have the paid version but since has gone to freeware,,, the same software. easy to use and also creates MP3 if desired,, PM for more info.
