Late one night on a dark 2 lane road a motorcyclist passed me. He was about 200 yards ahead of me when I saw him wobble and go into the next lane. He looked like he was heading for the left ditch when he recovered the bike. Then I saw why he became unstable. He hit a deer.

He was damn lucky. It wasn’t a fully grown dear, it still had spots. He had a large bike, like a gold wing or something. It seemed like he broke the deer’s back. I watched it struggle and die a minute later and then I pulled it off the road.

true story

Growing up in the boonies, driving on dark country roads all the time, hitting rabbits, racoons, skunks, fox and numerous other wild life, was a weekly occurance.

However, the best one was sitting in the back seat of the car (my father was driving), when he side-swiped a COW, that had wandered out of the pasture. Cow was fine dammit, not a scratch. the side of the car the crushed.

So much for having meat in the freezer that winter.

flying deer

This one circulated the internet for awhile, and there are pics of it,:

A deer that was about to cross an overpass was spooked by a car that was also crossing said overpass. The deer became dis-orientated and confused, and jumped off the overpass. At that precise time an SUV was passing under the overpass, the deer landed on the passenger side of the SUV and pushed the roof in and blew out the windshield, luckly, there was no-one sitting in the passenger side, the driver escaped with a few minor injuries.

Honest officer he came out of no-where!

Ah ha !
Limestone City Brats.

Driving customers home one night on the 401 about 2am
when the guy in the front seat says "is it only me or is that center line moving ".
Before I could react I ran over this big skunk walking up the middle of the highway. All I could hear was thud thud .
The lady in the back seat says " shouldn't we stop to see if it is ok".
I said "If I didn't kill it the big truck right behind me finished him".

It must of been a male cause it didn't stink as much.
