Anyone on here know if after your retention plan expires, would it be possible to reapply for the same offer? I guess one would need to speak to retention and threaten to leave?

Anyone know ow the best way to go about this?

Of course it is possible to get same plan, but usually they make it more a pain the ass since they change packages every year

I can't believe everyone did not grab the last crop of promo plans though
No way your current retention plan is anywhere near as good as the offers from Christmas to last month

On expiration it reverts to the usual huge rip-off they charge all other customers that don't know about it. Last time I got the plan, the Rogers guy told me to write down the date the plan will expire and call about half a month before the date to give them time to switch everything around.

I tried this with bell a couple of years ago. Customer retention wouldn't give an inch. So I notified them that I was cancelling, next day they started calling with better offers.

This is an annual dance you must do to maintain lower rates. Just phone, tell them you're looking at your options, Bell, etc. They will give you another 1 or 2 year deal much better than all the smucks are paying. Make sure you write everything down because your first bill will be wrong and you'll have to phone back and freak on them. I'm with Bell now as they are easier to deal with.

Its worse then that. With Bell they wouldn't redo the previous terms even after a couple of tries with customer retention and instead stuck to their guns until I called and told them I'd end my contract. After that they called back with lower offers. Also interesting is that the 3 or 4 times they called with better offers is that they refused to send the new offer on paper or through email, they would only give these terms on the phone. Super shady.

Getting the best rates is tricky as some CSRs will stonewall you, while others will offer a great deal.

But it seems to get your best deal you got to get transferred over to the retention dept and threaten to quit.

I don't have patience with that so if the first CSR or two gives me a shitty deal, I move on to another place. I'm not going to hash it out for days waiting for someone at head office to offer me the ultimate deal.

You are absolutely right. Life just isn't worth wasting with shits like these.
