slam the leafs as you will. listen to the experts...they say its a great deal for the leafs to get for a depth centre. Im tending to believe them and not a Sens fan. Francis will give them great depth and an awsome face off man. Hes not brought in to be the saviour but an addition to an awsome team. I for one love it!

well Paul Ron Francis is a perfect fit for a 3 rd or 4th line centre isnt he? how is it a bad thing? hes a healthy quality player with huge amounts of experience...hes not the Francis of old but great hands, great passer and smart as hell. Who would you have wanted to fill the 3rd or 4th center position? personally i dont see a downside to this..IMHO.. in the end its GO LEAFS GO

Speaking as a non Leaf fan, this is a great move. They didn't lose anything but they gained a lot of experience. I'm a big Francis fan, I believe he is the most underated player ever.

But I can't help that all these moves going down are because the GM's, Fergie included, know that there's going to be a lockout next year. There going for it today because they know there's not going to be a season next year and there not going to have to pay them anyway's.

The Leafs got Francis for nothing so all in all good trade. He can win you faceoffs and he can still be a good sniper, that is if they can wake him up in time for the games. Word out of Toronto is that the carpenter in the AC Center was spotted this afternoon building a ramp from the dressing room to the bench and a flunkie was spotted shining up some walkers.

Another source tells me Sundin was spotted downtown at Nevada Bob's buying a brand new set of Calloways. Not sure what that's all about .... lol !

Francis is a rent a player. If we are going to make a run this year, we need depth. He makes a good 3rd line centerman and is the type that can walk into the room with no big ego. His actions on the ice spek for themselves.

Apparently we also picked up Chad Kilger.

It Does! I'm not disputing it. But i don't think Ottawa has it in them. That's what I think.

I'm a Leaf fan till the Death. but I also will admit when we don't have it to make it either.

Toronto has added alot of depth and experience. Ottawa on the rise but stil doesn't have that killer instict yet. That is the truth.

Chad Kilger was a first round draft pick that never reached his potential. But he is 6'4" 225 lbs. A great fourth line player who has the skills to score.

He is a guy who needs the right linemates. AKA HOGLUND (never should have been taken of Sundins Line) How do you take a 1or 2 million dollar player who scored 25 goals with one line then put him on a line with guys he is not comfortable playing with.

Yes I KNOW Hoglund is not that good but he was good with Sundin. The Stats don't lie.

Just heard on the radio that the Leafs were real close to landing Sean Hill from Carolina. Issue at hand was renogiating the contract which fell through. That would have been a great pickup for the buds
