Friday night I drove by Roxxxannes around 10:00p.m and was thinking of dropping in. Place was surrounded by Kitchener's finest. Parking lot was blocked off with cruisers and looked like front doors were blocked so no-one could leave the place. Anybody know what was going on? I was thinking maybe somebody got stupid and started a fight but way too many cops for that. Also didn't hear a thing on the news. Curious if anyone have any info?

Wow! Is it still safe to go to this place? Violence is a very serious matter. This kind of situation, when happening in Toronto, was even worse where guns were used and people got killed. For the safety of everyone, dangerous patrons should be severely punished and deterred by law.

I knew it had to be more than just a "naughty" lap dance. The cops had cruisers blocking the driveway entrances and cruisers and men at the front doors, so I knew nobody was going to be able to come in or leave. I am surprised that it did not make the news though. If the city doesn't want this establishment I am sure they would have used this to "bash the place"!

I heard second hand (grain of salt time) that it involved some very drunk and stupid UW students as well.

Apparently it was University Jocks being and acting in a manner that is simply not tolerated at a strip club. Likely started when they all got pissed off realising that "no touch" really means "no touch".

Anyone know if Kitchener's finest are patrolling around Roxxxannes's more frequently since the incident or if they are leaving the place alone?

Waterloo and KW fuzz always ramp up their patrols of clubs and bars when the students are back in September. It's more PR than anything else. I don't think they really give a crap about lap dances at a stripclub. That's more of a job for the by-law officers. I got this straight from a cops lips ---> "I've got better things to do than walk around a nude bar when I'm on shift" 'nuf said.

foot patrols

A lot of the bar owners will actually ask for a uniformed pair to walk through on their busy nights, especially if they have had experience of drunk college students duking it out. One glimpse of sidearms and billy clubs will usually cool down any hot heads... cheap security. The major concern is violence. T & A, and even moderate drinking, are way off the radar.

Mind you, the lap dances at Roxannes are so safe that even my mother might approve! :p

It was some "connected" people taken care of some business, and the people hurt were hit with a table etc...serious injuries occuried. The guys that did the damage got away and being searched for. This was not Jocks or Univeristy students that did the damage, they may have been the ones to get hurt, however.

Roxxannes

I was there the night after the incident. My friends are regulars there. Apparently, one of the local drug dealers had a chair smashed over his head. They caught the guy who swung the chair but the other guy was rushed to hospital. Apparently, he is no longer allowed in the club either.

I never see any violence there. It is a pretty quiet club, but I am never there past 9PM
