Another idiot speaks, as if the French can live again regaining their rightful place in the world economy thru a grand plan of state run banks. These two Brown and Sarkozy are a joke. They act in panic, having to nationalize banks, repeat have to, in order to save their core corporations from failing, and now they tout it as a good thing, while saddling up to China.

The taffy pull on banking regulations between Europe's leaders and the US has begun. Meanwhile Asia's leading economies are having breakfast together, hosted by China and are putting their own 'local' currency rescue plan together.

OPEC is looking at gold.

Does anyone else sense that the days of a USD world base currency are numbered? June 09 I say.

Sarkozy may not be that far off. His diatrabe against hedge funds struck a chord with me. Seems like everyone is following Brown's lead.


You might be right about the US dollar, but in this crisis it seems to be the safe haven. Not Gold, not the Euro, but US treasuries(and the yen, to some extent)

We are in irrational days driven by massive debt. I was speaking with some American friends recently, died-in-the-wool conservative republicans, and all they care about is the market and the economy. They could give a shit less about Sarah Palin, terrorism, wars with Iran, Ayers, tax cuts, etc...
