Having the option to seek sex elsewhere gives both people involved in the relationship to make their choice, which is ideal and shows a great deal of respect for the other.

It certainly goes against our genetics. But monogamy may be beneficial to society. There are pros and cons. Considering the audience here, I'm guessing most people are seeing the cons.

Correct. Just because something is natural or instinctual doesn't mean that controlling it in certain contexts is a bad idea. Many people might feel it's natural to openly masturbate every morning in front of our neighbors hot wife, but that doesn't mean they should do it or encourage it.

It's natural to want to dick around all day when growing up instead of sitting in class learning how to read, write, and do math. But society is much better off that people put their kids in school rather than have them doing fuckall all day.
