Basically this is what was happening. I use a router, which my current computer is physically connected to. Before the router, I would have to log on to use the internet. Several months ago this log-in window would pop up. I figured it was some sort of adware that I couldn't find that was trying to connect to the net via my old way.
Recently, my page would freeze after a minute the same old log-in window would pop up. Of course I wouldn't enter my log-in id or password. After I close the log-in window it would pop up again a minute later. It would basically get frustrating as I could only really view a page a minute at a time. I was able to download firefox (thanks to asn and all other posters in the past who recommended this browser) and I am currently using it. So far it's been several minutes and I am not having the previous problem (which I would have notice already if there was one).
Can anyone help me finding what my problem was in the first place with my old browser, Netscape. The reason being is so that I know how to solve this problem if it were to happen again. I use Norton, Ad-Aware and Spybot. The only time the log-in window would pop-up was when I would view some youtube videos.
