SDR technology allows you to listen to AM/FM radio on your android smart phone

my paranoid blood relative won't let me carry a portable am fm radio to listen to Cuban stations on the North Coast of Jamaica




(i called the people that do searching carryons and luggage in airports and they are allowed)

the radio i wanted to carry is an eton grundig traveller 3 (it is the same size as smartphones)












so am looking into SDR technologies


this man use SDR on his android phone

all i need is USB dongles and SDR software


if in failed i will try to hide the radio in my bags

Ironically every phone has FM Radio capability out of the box. But since you can't sell FM radio they disabled it. Every cell phone I had before 2013 had FM radio built in.

Just before becoming on turb and reading this post I learned about this new technology. Never heard of sdr before
