Well with my self improvement kick under way, I'm trying to get the bases covered.

Physical and diet: check.

Mental and emotion: Working on it.

What's that leave....Oh right a almost complete lack of self-esteem, and nearly crippling shyness, which combine to result in a lack of interpersonal communication skills...

I'm rather skeptical of self help books, and if they are of any use or not...But really where's the harm, I've got to start somewhere, and the tools I have right now aren't cutting it...

A couple of books that caught my eye...
Unleash the Warrior Within

Undercover Sex Signals I almost bought it earlier in the week, but was too embarrassed to take it to the counter. Besides, what good is being able to read a lady's signals, when none are interested...

Of course maybe more my speed...
Body Language For Dummies

and
Sex For Dummies About describes the subject and my relationship to it...Again, of questionable use to me...

Anyone field any suggestions?

Yeah, I think you referred to his To See It Is To Believe It, correct? How Pull Your Own Strings looks interesting.

No one else have anything to add? No recommendations? No warnings? No "Dave, you're a loser!!"?

Over many many decades I have gone through a lot of these, at the end of the road almost all did nothing except part me with my money.

What are the ones I still recall some lessons from,

Tsun Tsu - The Art of War, but it needs to be studied and thought about not just read.

7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Any decent book on learning to play chess and strategy, may sound weird but it helps with life since it removes the hocus pocus and forces you to think about the reality of the present situation.

If you are looking for confidence with people I don't believe you will get that from a book as well as you could get it from people. Consider Toastmasters or anything or group that will get you in front of people in an enjoyable situation. You will probably develop naturally with your own personality in that environment better and faster than trying to do it in isolation from a book.

Pity they meet on the night I work...I know that because they meet the same night we have union meetings, which I now work....Even if it's just confidence in myself, I'd be happy...
