Well... you know how it goes these days. It takes 1 person or a couple, or a family who feel insulted or threatened and crews will no longer be allowed to make jokes about potential crashes or insinuate that every family is made of a husband, a wife and kids.

I, for one, enjoy humor.

The plane landed in Cuba a bit hard, The male attendant/crew said on the PA, It wasn't the captain fault it's the ground. We all laughed.
Same guy on my way back.

Thai Airways half the crew dressed up in their local outfit, and they did say something funny. No one jokes on the German flight to here.
