Should have shot him in the arm

Here's a video for all the delusional armchair quarterbacks who always claim that the cops should have shot someone in the arm, leg etc. That there was no need to shoot so many times or that they could have simply disarmed the person with kung fu.

Perhaps a social worker could have de-escalated the situation ? Lol

No worries btw, there wont be any protest as there shouldn't be, the guy is white.

If suspect was black there'd be protests!

Dude had minutes earlier stabbed a guy in a dispute over face masks.

She shot him at least 10 times (she may have missed on the first couple of shots as suspect turned sideways, smaller target) before he went down!

Good that she was able to clear the jam.

On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, Greece
Shows you things happen fast out there and life altering decisions have to made in the blink of an eye.

Much respect to officer here who used her training to the fullest.

I suspect the defund the police crowd will be silent on this one. They always are when they can't politicise something for their own gain.

Good job. I can only add perhaps cops need to be using cars as weapons more. Safest way to deal with shit like this, and not as deadly.

Without the video, people would be demanding answers as to why the Cop had to shoot him. Had he been black, there'd be fire/looting/riots/mayhem in the streets. Even with the video.

Even worse than the people who say the Cop should've shot him in the arm, are the ones who think they should've shot the knife out of his hand.

Well without going into race side of it let’s just say videos are super important and defunding police doesn’t help getting it going.
OPP a few years ago successfully opposed body cams and killed a pilot project based on budget considerations. They have no body cams or in car cams.
Similarly there’s no body cams in peel, Halton, anywhere around here really except Toronto proper and York and Durham.

Wow lucky for the cop he had this on camera, you either shoot the perp or risk dying

If you had to shoot quickly, you will fall back on muscle memory. This idea of shooting in the arm or leg is crap as you might miss. When I shoot its for the centre of the target, to ensure I make a hit. I normally practice for headshots as that will put your opponent down the quickest.

If you have evil intent, I'm want to make sure I stay alive.

Good shoot - bad shot. Centre of mass always. Shoot to kill only, because you are justified to shoot only if life is threatened. If you shoot to wound then you weren't justified to shoot in the first place. Just an ugly fact. Was surprised perp got so close before the first volley, even got a hand on the cops weapon.

Centre of mass also means less likely stray rounds and more likely hit. The reality is though under stress targeting gets bad. Very common lots of misses, but surprised from that distance there seemed to be so many off target but not surprised. In fact one reason the .40 became popular v. 9mm was knock down power of the .40 and at times if you don't hit bone the 9mm passes right through. Thus maybe it was a 9mm and a number of the rounds did hit but failed to stop. Another issue though is there is a big echo and that makes you think many more shots fired than were actually fired - if so maybe fewer misses than we think. (It also belies this idea of the good guy w a gun - trained cops not good shots under stress, imagine a weekend warrior in that situation).

Perp might have been on drugs didn't look too much like a suicide by cop but ya never know. The drugs might explain why a few of the hits that took time to register. Knew a bloke in vietnam said he X'ed a Viet cong w his m-16 and the bloke was still charging. He attributed it to the various narcotics that the VC often took.

But about as clean a shoot as can be.
