I voted YES simply because I'm tired of these periodic flareups and weak bandage peace attempts that will never succeed.

I should clearify my YES vote by stating that both Canada and the US should stay out of it.

As certainly implied in the thread I started there are a great many ramifications to this: Will Egypt get involved, would this cause a revolution in Jordan (already the King has cancelled a scheduled overseas visit), if Egypt does not get involved would that trigger another revolution there, would Iran attempt to become even more involved (by the way the longer range missiles are of supplied by Iran). If it goes all in, will outside powers be drawn into the war.

A ground war will provide no greater security for the Israelis .

It may satisfy the need to respond to the rocket attacks for domestic reasons but will play no role in altering the relationship between Israel and the Palestinians. Until the settlements are stopped and a serious attempt at peace is made no real change is possible. Hailey's comet may well return before this happens.

That both sides seem unable to break out of this cycle of violence shows how truly incapable of change we are.

No. Ground operations often fail against insurgencies. Helicopter special forces surgical strikes are a far better option.

Armoured warfare is not good in urban areas. Although I do want to see how the new trophy aps works in real war situations.

Israelis can go in and topple Hamas if they wanted too, the problem is that they don't know who would replace them. They have so many factions in Gaza they can't get their shit together. Various Islamic Jihads , Al Queda these are completly irrational people that don't care to die and obviously don't care that they're killing Palestinian civilians. They know they can't win.... Palestinians are scared of Hamas and all these psychos.

A ground attack will just make it clear that Israel is running and responsible for the bantustan of Gaza.
There would be a lot of deaths and it won't make the situation any safer for anyone.

Today's stat.
In 2011 more Israeli's died from varicose veins then from Palestinian rocket attacks.
Bomb varicose veins, not people.

Your opinion is useless.

Today's stat:
Groggy and gryfin told more lies today than the rest of TERB combined.

Today's stat:

If Israel could wipe out Hamas and then hand over to the P.A. might lead to something.
Wouldn't work for the PA. They have too many people in their factions that agree with hamas goals and will shit on their leadership whenever they seem close to Israel.

Har, har, har. The only problem is that the current situation in the Middle East is nothing to laugh about.
Who's laughing?

I merely posted that because of the eerie feeling I got when I see things escalating and talk of other countries around the area, and then the world, being dragged into this mess.

Their strategy is to use air strikes to prepare for the ground operations, it's not one of the other, it's a multi point approach.
