post in Agency and Indy advertising threads?

I'm in the opinion that perhaps we should not be allowed to post on advertising threads UNLESS unlocked by the advertiser.

I find it annoying to have to sift through so many "you rock", "you're hot", "beautiful" or "this sucks", "you suck", "bye bye bitch" sentiments when all I really want is to know availability and a contact info.

Perfect case in point is John_Eleganza's posts. His posts are attacked on a regular basis because he advertises his agency which only serves Montreal.
WHO FUCKING CARES!!! He paid to advertise here. Why can't we just let him advertise and say his piece without having members go on and basically call him an asshole who is wasting our time.

This is just a thought. I keep checking John's threads because I never know when a trip to Montreal is in order. I find his threads useful and a good source of eye candy.

Just my not-so-humble opinion.

They should be allowed to post with opinions that would be beneficial to an advertiser. Sometimes opinions are appreciated. But they should not be allowed to post rudely or compare anyones services to anyone elses etc...

I agree a paid advertiser is paying to advertise and nobody should infringe on that in that section.

I seem to recall being admonished by a Mod when I first joined Terb for responding to a post... "Advertisers only" I was told. Did I imagine that, or has the policy lapsed...?

BTW, I think John's posts are helpful. I travel to Montreal now and again just to hobby, under the premise of business. I suspect there are lots of Terbites that do the same...

If terb had a half decent directory like the one on hotbabes the sp could make announcements in her directory page.

However, the new and improved sp directory of terb is still screwed up. For example I clicked on staceys directory banner in her sig and all I get is this:

First of all I do have flash and secondly the directory should never open with flash to begin with. It's like going on yellowpages.ca and the first thing that would open is a video.

How would one ask the advertiser a Q without being able to post?

if the advertiser wanted questions to be posted, he/she could unlock the thread. Or simply the PM function.
