Good news for smaller book retailers, the ones that survived in lower rent areas.

It's about time the entire flea market from Dundas up to Bloor see's the wreaking ball.
And what goes in instead? High end retailers? Go to bloor or yorkdale. Other retailers? Eaton centre and biggest ungerground mall there. When I go on vacation I look forward to small retailers I can negotiate with. The whole city can't be "gentrified".

That's what Amazon.com and other online sites where you can buy books are for.
There is nothing like going through the stacks of a bookstore or a library. Online is fine when you know exactly what you are looking for, but if you are simply looking for something different, it ain't the same.

Some of us like to browse. Find new authors by peeking at the first couple of pages. I don't just go in for a specific book all the time. WBB was great for that. Huge selection. I just don't get the same feeling surfing online.

Condos are going up on The Worlds Biggest Bookstore site. The world is breeding faster than Toronto. Truth is the world has far surpassed Toronto. It's why the occupants now feed on its corpse. Third world retail is what the Yonge Street strip is now.

Toronto's past lives in 905 and 705 now.

Um ... no. Much of the "third world" lives in the 905 and just operates ethnic restaurants and stores in the 416 for us rich gringos to visit.
They don't live in my 905 and 705. I work in 416 and I'm saddened at what happened to the city I grew up in.

They fuck up my order at Tims all the time when I'm in my old area code during my work week because English is my first language.

Too Far North
I feel bad that WBB is going. I have spent thousands of hours and many dollars in that place...

As long as BMV next door is still around, I'll be a happy reader.
