Hey Everyone,

I am trading my car in for a newer used one. My current car has Sirius installed in it and I wanted to know if I needed to get the docking station uninstalled or if I could just take my radio and get a new docking station installed into my new car??

I went to Best Buy and asked they said I needed to get it uninstalled by them but I was thinking that was just because they were looking for more money. Plus they have docking stations for sale there in case you wanted to have it in another car. That's why Im thinking I could just buy that get it installed in my car and its the same thing.

Another thing I was wondering about is when ever I pass a TTC bus or someone else who has Sirius my radio goes all fuzzy or the other radio takes mine over. Just wondering if this is common or if Best Buy screwed up installing my current radio.

Thanks everyone

By docking station I guess you are talking about the car-kit? You can buy them through Sirius or Best Buy. There is a discount place in Mississauga called Satellite Radio Source ( http://www.satellite-radio-source.ca/store/catalog/ ) that sells stuff like that at good prices.

You are using the FM-radio out option of the radio. You can add an additional FM-out antenna to the radio that will improve the transmitter's signal quality. You can make it yourself with a length of wire (I used a couple feet of a pair of conductors from a cat-5 patch cord) and a plug from Radio Shack (The Source).

the same thing happens to my Sirius radio when I am near a TTC bus it goes all fuzzy, also another weird thing is I live near a hospital and sometimes the radio will go out and I will get the hospitals intercom or telephone system over the radio, its the strangest thing and never been able to find a reason or a fix for it.

That happens every time I pass North York General. I've heard calls for Code Blue, Someone needed a wheel chair, some nurse had a phone call, and pages for certain doctors.

It is called RF (radio frequency) overload. Sirius uses FM technology. In FM, ONLY the strongest signal get through. Your radio gets more energy from the hospital paging system and thus the sirius is blocked out.

If you are buyinga new ford or dodge it comes with Sirius in the radio.

I bought a Grand Prix which is XM ready. But since I already have a Sirius subscription and since XM does not have Howard Stern I need a way to convert the XM to Sirius.
