Best bet is to join a Rod and Gun club

Most skeet is shot as competitve.

You need eye protection as well. Most if not all gun clubs require you to wear hearing and eye protection at all times in the range area. If you don't already own a firearm, you will have to get your FAC (Firearms Acquisition Certificate) first (practical & written exam req.). There aren't alot of Skeet ranges around the GTA but you can check out the Ontario Skeet Shooting Association at http://www.ontarioskeet.com for more info. Not many ranges I know have club shotguns that you can signout or are open to the general public except on open-house days when they're accepting new members. You'd either have to be taken in as a guest or join the club.

has a list of clubs -

I would recommend you consider Cambridge - great facility - easy going folk and only 1 hour from TO. Of special interest is the 5 stand - an exciting game - but you tend to burn through ammo fast.

The FAC exams aren't too difficult. Basic commom sense questions for the written part and you can actually do it via home-study if you purchase the manuals. Stuff like max distance of a .22LR cartridge, what types of ammo are there, how does a rimfire vis center fire cartridge/firearm work, types of firing and safety mechanism etc. The practical is easy too so long as you don't go overthinking stuff.

The last sentences is what happened to me after I begged the guy at my Karate club. It is an expensive hobby/sport. The guy who took me was cheap he would gather the empty shells and fill them himself. Mainly farmers at the club. Very few woman and not that great looking. Maybe Alberta may have better game. Waht will cost you is the gun even used can cost around 300 - 500 if you are lucky bullets can range, can't remmember prices. Since I am thrill seeker and only like to do things once or twice I convinced the guy that I may be interested in joining. But that never happen I simply said not for me it's not what I thought
