Sketchy situation, Asian Natural Therapy 256 Bank

Yesterday evening I’d struck out on some downtown possibilities due to logistics issues so broke my cardinal no-AMP-rule and randomly ducked into Asian Natural Therapy (256 Bank) to get out of the rain as I finished an errand. Attendant was cute and friendly, so went for a massage/HJ combo. After the flip I re-flipped during (so mechanical and big vibe shift) and just asked her to run out the time w the massage.

Upon leaving I noticed a heavily tinted sedan idling at the curb right in front and as I started walking down Bank I got the impression that it was following me. Quick change of street side and direction change on my walk to test and it doubled back and changed trajectory so my suspicion was confirmed. I had a significant quantity of cash on me so I rapidly commenced some pretty extreme evasive maneuvers through and over parking garages, fences and alleys back to my car and I got out of the area pronto.

I’d been a total idiot earlier and not had a smaller session sum ready apart from my stack, so when I paid in advance as requested she saw the fat wallet. There was a bunch of in and out on her part at the very end of the session and hushed talking (doorbell so I figured it was the usual client in and out), and at the end as I was dressing there was some more agitated back room convo’ing going on with the mamasam in Chinese so no idea if it was a set up based on her observations of my flushness.

Whatever it was, heads up to avoid this spa, and a thankfully painless reminder to never let your guard down, and don’t be an idiot like I was. When LL /EI diamond hunting I usually never take more than the session amount and a top up in case things go really well, and lock my wallet in the truck before arriving in the hood, and usually even leave my phone in the car if the entry logistics have been figured out. After realizing my carelessness when putting my wallet back in my pants I didn’t think that a ‘legit’ spa downtown would be an issue, but hey, maybe the AMP shadiness extends beyond trafficking if the opportunity presents … be safe !

I agree this is a stretch. If someone was setting up to rob you they likely wouldn't be in a car. You could easily get away from them in an alley, one way street etc (which you did).

You think a pair of robbers would quickly arrive at the location in one wheels, or e-scooters instead of a car?

An interesting & entertaining read. Congratulations on your first reaction scores!👍

A lot to unpack here ... beautiful women, lots of cash, diamonds, villains, daring escape ... 💃💰💎

Definitely a sketchy situation ... 🤔

I’m glad it was entertaining for you, but that wasn’t my intention. To the sarcastic responders, how would you prefer that I relay the information I did in my OP?

The car crawled beside me as I went south on Bank, and when it saw I wasn’t taking the first side street it rolled slowly ahead to the next intersection where it pulled to the curb. That’s when I crossed the street and doubled back a bit, and when I saw it making a u-turn I quickened my pace down the same side side street other side of Bank and turned into an empty parking lot. About the same moment I realized the parking lot was a dead end w no exit the car stopped at the entrance boxing me in. With no way out I scaled the fence at the back and got out of there - would you have preferred that I approach the vehicle and asked the gentlemen if they needed directions ? I’m including the info to demonstrate I wasn’t imagining this.

One other detail not in my OP was that in all the in and out at the end of the session the attendant misplaced her phone, maybe this was what caused all the agitated convo in Chinese w the back room. Whether it was genuine or lead-up to what happened next I have no idea. Also, re the one comment re age, she wasn’t old and said it was her second day. I don’t dress or carry myself in a way that would attract this kind of a random street situation. 20+ years of hobbying with some sketchy situations going back to the Sun classifieds, but this was a first.

Not sure what caused it, not fun and thought I’d share. Let me know how’d you prefer I proceed in the future to avoid the snarky commentary.

or it was just a car looking for a place to park and you really let your paranoia write the script here

Or you don’t know how to read. The car was parked in a perfectly good spot when I came out, it could have stayed there. And to reverse into Bank St traffic, pull a u-turn in a rainstorm the exact moment I abruptly changed direction, just to sit in at the entrance to a empty parking lot kitty corner to the original parking spot engaged in a stare-off waiting to see what I’d do? Nah, not random, not looking for parking - I was stalked.
