It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact: What women wear has no significant impact on how likely they are to be raped.

This is due to a couple of factors, one being that rape is a crime of opportunity, and so rapists don't generally get to be very choosy about what their victims are wearing. A second is that rape is not generally motivated by lust, but rather by a desire to feel powerful and dominant.

It's not just that it's morally repugnant to blame the victim, it's that there is actually no relationship between clothing and rape. None.

Now there might be a relationship between clothing and MINOR sex crimes, groping, jeering, that sort of thing--where those crimes might actually be motivated by lust. But not rape.
We all know that you can get self-righteous and quote opinion as if it were fact. (Most of us also know that you rarely bother to take the time to read and understand what other are saying before doing so, so although I know that I'm wasting my time replying to you, I'll do so for the benefit of others.) When is the "wear dark clothing at night" parade? The same reasons apply to hold both.

I do. Puppies as well, the occasional stroller with a baby in it, joggers, the elderly. Pretty much everything is fair game.

Technically, I don't think it's legal to be bottomless like that.. technically. But who gives a fuck about technicalities when you see someone like that walking down the street??! I wish I would have been there, and gotten a picture with her ;)
It might not be 100% legal, but it is as close as it can be. Consider:
- There is an exception in public nudity laws for organized events such as World Nude Bike Ride and Pride. This qualifies.
- Officers can not lay charges for public nudity without permission from the attorney general, which means they are not going to if they can possibly avoid it.
- Most experts agree that Ontario's nudity laws would not withstand a constitutional challenge based on the fact that nudity is not harmful. There was a case recently of a guy who was hiking nude in Orillia, he was acquitted, because it was not harmful.

At this point, I think you could go to the beach, or a park, or join a demonstration, and be nude, and have no fear of arrest, as long as you did not do anything else illegal.

Aren't there studies that prove nudity harm children?
And other studies show.. most children were *born* naked!! They have a perverse term for this.. their "birth day suit"
No wonder the world is so screwed up!!

Better not let Jen hear you say that. You'll get buried by more carefully selected statistics.
If you're referring Miss Genevieve, Narg, you might consider reading her posts with an open mind. She has much wisdom to share.

Seriously? How would it harm them? There have been studies, but not surprisingly (to me anyway), they find no harm. Nudity, like many things, can be offensive to people, and embarassing, but that is not enough to be considered harmful.

I seem to vaguely recall that the reason why they don't allow topless women in Toronto swimming pools is because of the allege "harm" that would cause children.

Topless women are allowed in Toronto swimming pools, 100%. The have a human right to be there, they can launch a human rights complaint if they are asked to cover up. Harm may be the reason they didn't want to allow it, but they fully lost, women can be topless anywhere men can. Works for me.

Sadly, this right is not exercised by the women in Toronto very often..

Sadly, when a woman exercises her right to go topless at a Toronto swimming pool, she is ordered by the authorities to cover up or get out. I think Toni Johnson (and the rest of the slutwalkers) should exercise her nudity rights at a Toronto swimming pool.

I have found her posts to be full of the standard feminist drivel unsupported by facts.
