So who's switched cellphone provider?

It seems the much anticipated implementation of wireless number portability has come and gone without much fanfare.

Has anyone switched to another cellphone provider yet? Or is everyone tied up in decade long contracts?

Personally, as soon as my Fido prepaid airtime runs out, I'll be switching to Petro Canada wireless.

Petro Canada wireless is run by Rogers by the way same as Fido (I believe).

True, well it's run by another company (Z-Tar or something) who rents Rogers' network, but the rates are way lower, especially for low-medium use.

I have switched from Rogers to Fido. It took about 3 days to benefit from the portability.

Still on monthly plan with Fido and their plans are way better than rogers... particularly the 30$ unlimited incall.

But not with that company I herd you can keep your number but have not confirmed it yet and I liked some of the Bell packages I saw .
