the answer is yes you can
Canadian can work here in the USA. You need to contact the US department of State and inquire about WORK VISAs. Once you have that VISA or GREEN CARD you apply to the US Department of Social Security. This is your TACKING NUMBER and required to obtain employment.

As far as Mariage goes you would have to apply for a FIANCEE VISA.

It is a longer orocess. As for application for Citizenship. You need to understand once the process is in action; if you leave the US even for Canada, you will be BARED fron entering the US untill you have your citizenship approved. Should you decide to halt the process you will become Persona-non-Grata.

Vanessa:

As with Canada a sure fire way to get accepted is to "lose" all your ID and apply for refugee status. It also helps if you've got experience running drugs, are part of a organized crime syndicate, rebel force and or posse.

Only way you can get dual citizenship is if your mother OR father is american. Otherwise forget it.

Papasmerf:

I think you meant to write 'barred from entering the US' but 'bared from entering' is an interesting idea too! :p

Re: Green cards

Anya said:
Getting a green card is notoriously difficult. You can get a work visa to the US if your employer sponsers you, and there's also an exception if you're providing something unique that no one in the US can. There is also a list of occupations under NAFTA that don't require a green card - it should all be on the INS website.

It is easier for a Canadian to get permission to work in the US and not live in the US. Then it is for an American to work in Canada and not live there or live there for that matter.

Vanessa, I'd be glad to help, but you'd have to reply back to set it up!
