Legendary Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi gave a statement to The Birmingham Mail announcing that his cancer is in remission.

He was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2012 and completed treatment in in 2014. During that time he only cut back on touring - tough old Dago/Limey! Although doctors have warned him that the cancer could return I suspect that cancer is as terrified of him as Ozzy is.

Without Black Sabbath, Rock would be dead and buried today.

Tony is too damn fierce to do no stinking commercial!

He cut off parts of his fret fingers in a punch press accident, that didn't stop him from playing the guitar. For moi David Bowie and Iommi are the twin towers of rock. Losing them so close to each other would have crushed my soul.

I'll be seeing them later this month. I'm assuming that you'll be doing the same.!

Something that surprises a lot of people the first time they see them in concert is what a consummate professional Iommi is. Doesn't miss a note. Doesn't screw around with arrangements or rework iconic passages. Just 100% pure power rock delivered by a master of the genre.

Of course Bud Plug. Tony Iommi is The Worst of Both Worlds - Birmingham born and raised ethnic Italian.

The first time I heard them they scared the shit out of me, was listening to The Partridge Family at the time. The Molson Amphitheater is the perfect venue to see them again. My ears will ring for days (tinnitus) but who gives a fuck.

Believe it or not: Bill Ward has been a lifelong fan of The Santana Band. Going so far as playing the timbales on Children of The Grave.

The last time I saw them was in Hamilton (Copps). I thought that was even more perfect. Our very own Birmingham!
