This filmfest is neat but you've said yourself that Linux isn't friendly for the consumer and apparently the 2% infiltration rate agrees with you. so you're one of those 2%'ers, big whoop! I know. IT'S FREE.
Wow the guy that did the video should do his research ... everything he said can also be done on in OSX .... the Darwin Kernal runs on all the platforms he mentioned. Not being led around by the nose like a little child like with M$/Mac.
Like I said, bad actors and family videos.
LOL!Well, we're getting use to it but again you're not paying attension or have a retension problem. It can't be me because I have bought one in a long time and I'm bald, but don't let the truth and facts in the way of a good fantasy, Woodie.
I suspected that also but the clip creator didn't want that to get in the way of the ax he had to grind!...Wow the guy that did the video should do his research ... everything he said can also be done on in OSX .... the Darwin Kernal runs on all the platforms he mentioned.
Well, again you're wrong, but we're getting use to it.LOL!
Couldn't help it rocky. He just exhibited that same excited Mac foanboiesque demeanor you possess!
Dude! Figured it HAD to be you!....![]()
Dude!Well, again you're wrong, but we're getting use to it.
My suspicion is that we are moving beyond the desktop environment (as you pointed out with clouds or whatever that is) and that it's too late for Linux on the desktop to make much more headway. Win 7 seems to work great...OS X is strong and will probably keep up some momentum...I don't see how Linux/Ubuntu will be more than just a minor fringe OS.Well ... This next release of Ubuntu is pretty solid on the desktop .... and fairly user friendly.
Linux is more then marginal... when u need to push the envelope and max at performance or use cutting edge technology it is there... it is one the reasons we use it quite a bit.... look at chrome OS to understand where technology is going .... the OS will not be some important in the future.
The mobile device is changing as well.. the present model of Linux OSX and Windows will die in their present state ... think clouds ....
That's their "best guess".The best thing that ever happened to Linux might have been Windows Vista. It also hasn't hurt matters that Ubuntu continues to make the open-source side of the fence more accessible to new users. While Windows 7 more than makes up for Vista's woes, there are now 12 million users rocking Ubuntu

True! That's about the time I decided to try Fedora. The best thing that ever happened to Linux might have been Windows Vista.
