If Loestrin is your birthcontrol of choice, the pharmacy has informed me that there seems to be some sort of back up or shortage going all the way back to the manufacturer, and that there's likely a shortage around all the drugstores in town.
I'm wondering if this might not be such a short term thing either because when I went to pick-up last month, they were entirely out of 21 day packs and I had to do some paper-work signing to switch over to a 28 day pack, and also mentioned something about a shortage.
So: If you're down to your last pack, I reccommend calling around to pharmacies to check their stock, and if you have a hard time finding it, get what you can and call your doctor, see if they have any samples or advice.
I'm posting this with a little urgency only because I know that lot of people who are on the low-dose b-control like Loestrin often have harsh sensitivities to different pills and can't just switch over to another one, nor is it easy on the body to just take the chance and miss it for a month because it throws your hormone balance shcedule all over the place. For me, it was like being a diabetic and being told "I'm sorry, we don't have any more insulin." Whoa, did this ever make me realize the things I take for granted in the time and place I live in.
