If it were a possibility(although apparently it's not), do you think Adrienne Clarkson's idea of having ladies play for the Stanley Cup this year - is a good one? Personally, I think she's finally justified all those millions of $$$ that her office wastes... er... spends each year. Why did'nt I think of that?

I think the Stanley Cup should be played for by the 2 teams fighting for hockey supremecy in North America. That being the case, I would have to say the American Hockey League is probably the highest level of hockey and therefore the strongest candidate for the right to hoist Stanley...

The BC government with some help from Ontario has looked into wresting control of the cup from the NHL but has determined it is not legally possible. Only the NHL decides who wins it.

This guy on the Fan590 today said they should just tie a black band around the Stanley Cup in honour of the lost season with no champion. I think that's the most logical thing to do with it this year.

Why don't they just leave something on it to recongize the fact that Canada has every major world championship at this time. This would be like awarding the 2000 athlete of the Year to Wayne Gretzky as the athlete of the Century.

I believe that the Stanley Cup belongs in the NHL and nobody else should have a right to play for it. Period. Why should it be possible for people to play for a trophy of which they are not even members of the league? This makes no sense to me. Put a tag on the trophy stating "season cancelled" or something like that. Just my opinion.
