Stereo repair

My Pioneer VSX- D608 stereo Digital processor receiver gave out on me 2 days ago. I can stilll play the video, but no sound. The tuner is working fine and can still play the radio stations. Any idea what might it be? Should I repair or get a new one instead? It's about 8 yrs old. Thinking of taking down to a repair shop around Markham or Scraboro hoping it's minor thing such as loose connections. Any suggestions or place you can recommend? Thanks.

For the price you will pay to fix it you might as well replace it, heck it will be an upgrade now.

Seems like a nice unit.
Try getting repair estimates. It may be worth getting fixed.

Sometimes the solder comes off the the circuit board and can be resoldered or a capacitor is blown and thats not expensive to fix.

Thanks for alll the suggestions gents. Just found out from a friend from HD TV store it was on tape2 monitoring mode by accident and allows you to listen and monitor thru head phones only. Nothing wrong with the unit.
