GUELPH — A stripper at The Manor was so angry in 2010 about losing her job at the Guelph strip club she attacked a co-worker she felt was responsible, court heard Monday.
“You cost me my job, I’m going to kill you,” Jewel-Arie Lemke told the other woman before beating her with the heel of her stiletto shoe, cutting the victim’s head open and causing her to need seven stitches.
The 22-year-old entertainer, who is back working at The Manor, quietly pleaded guilty Monday in the Ontario Court of Justice on Wyndham Street to the charges of assault causing bodily harm, and uttering death threats.
Lemke received a suspended sentence and probation for 12 months. Justice John Payne said because of her guilty plea and because she is a first-time offender, she will not receive jail time.
“Rehabilitation is still a factor in this sentencing given her lack of record and her youthful age,” Justice Payne said.
The prosecution said Lemke had lost her job in 2010 over disputes between her and other employees. On March 29, at around 6:15 p.m., Lemke assaulted her victim in the basement of the club.
Lemke must stay away from the victim. Lemke’s lawyer said the victim is living in Montreal so there is little chance of the two coming into contact with one another. Lemke is also not allowed to possess any firearms for the next five years.
