In southern New Hampshire before dawn this past Sunday morning four men the oldest 20 and the youngest a month from his eighteenth birthday, chose a house at random, and entered it with the intention “of robbing it and killing anyone inside.” They hacked a 42 year old nurse to death with a machete and severely wounded and left to die her eleven year old daughter.
Their motive seems solely that “it would be fun to kill someone.”

If ever a case cries out for the death penalty this surely must be one of them.
