I would like some feed back on advertising, a very nice MA that I know has been advertising in the Sun without alot of luck, she gives a great massage and is quite service minded. This could be considered a shill and that is why I am not telling you who or where she is, I simply want to know if it would be more worth her while to legitimately advertise here instead of the Sun.:)
Thank you all for your help,
C H

I personally found the ottawa sun hard to book clients. Also alot were noshows. I found Terb to be one of the best places to advertise. There are also a few other place I could mention, but you will need to Pm for more info.

The money spent in the Sun is better spent on Terb. I say go for it.

Thanks

Almost all of the MP's that advertise in the Sun tend to more or less offer the same services. There are a few gems that offer a first rate massage, (depending on the girl) and release (Maureen's, Michelle's, Inner Image and Body Care), a couple of places with mediocre massage (Oasis, Luna, Acqua and Body Basics) and then the bottom of the barrel in terms of massage (Magic Hands, and Angel's Touch). If you move into the ads under "Adult Massage" you'll get Triple AAA and that Gabrielle (very good massage thank you). These are to be avoided only in you want to get laid. My advice for your friend is to stay with the MP section listed above and if she is good, her client base will grow. By advertising elsewhere, clients will assume she's an escort. It's worked for Christa, Sarah, Pauline and Maureen herself.

A shill is when the MA or a friend of hers posts BS in order to get business. Knowing someone and saying positive things about them, if they're true, isn't shilling. In fact, since many of us come to this board for just that kind of info, it's very helpful if you know of someone good to let us know about her.

If she's truly good, tells us more and ID her please.

Could not agree more ... why not just tell us who she is and let us decide whether it is S or not.

I think this person meant that it might be a shill for TERB.

The fact is that (sadly) advertising in The Sun is essential to making it these days. No one likes that fact less than myself -- and in fairness, I've never actually advertised on TERB -- but I'm finding that I have to advertise in the Sun myself right now, despite the cost and the limitations.

One factor in this is that many of the guys who contact me through the Sun call me from payphones. This is very odd -- ten years ago, it would have been unheard of. So why? Well, here's the scoop. Many of my clients tell me that they're not free to look online to find/contact an SP because their significant other/employer is more computer literate than they are. They're nervous of leaving traces. With respect to phone stuff, many customers who have cell phones now stop at payphones to call because either their spouse or their employer scrutinizes their call history.

This is sad because we have more ability to show the customer what we have to offer (for a better price!) through the web -- but many of them simply can't take the chance on using it. Frustrating!!

But that's how it is at the moment. The internet thing has evolved quickly -- and who knows where it will go from here.

I use payphones because my cell phone bill has my calling history. And my wife pays the bills and has a nosy streak. What really scared me was one day my wife was curious about a number which had called our house phone, and she Googled the number and found out who had it. One SP has my cell phone number to confirm appointments, but I'll never give it out to another, I guess. I'm lucky I suppose, that we each have our own computers.

Internet cafes are great -- if people go to them. But too many Ottawa customers seem to find it easier to go to a payphone. Obviously they're not represented here, because if someone is here, then he can go online for hobby info. As an Ottawa SP, I can tell you that the bulk of the business seems to have regressed back to pre-internet and cell phone days.

I've had more than a few Ottawa gentlemen find me online while they were out-of-town elsewhere on business. In the safety of their hotel rooms in Vancouver or San Diego, they can finally surf the internet without having to look over their shoulders!

(Oleman, it's none of my business, but perhaps you should have a talk with your wife about snooping. Snooping on a spouse is just as bad as cheating, in my book! I have been married 24 years, so I've got a lot of experience at being married and doing what it takes to have a good marriage. I would never dream of snooping on my husband's call or surfing histories. Snooping is one of the deadly sins that kills marriages. It indicates a controlling partner who is unwilling to trust and respect his or her partner's individual rights. See a counsellor if necessary, but if your wife makes a habit of snooping on you, she needs to be set straight before it costs you both your marriage.)

that's interesting. In the past, you've been so busy, it was almost
impossible to make a same day booking, and often not the next day.
(I'd stopped trying)

Well they should be!
People using PCs should be very concerned. Real computers
are naturally multiuser, and have accounts and permissions.

My suggestion is to check out http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/, and get an account with proxify.com. Keep it on a USB key.

It's busier now than ever, actually. I'm determined to take today and tomorrow off -- the first days I've been home for nearly a month. I've had to go in just about every day that I was supposed to have off this past month.

But the good news is that it's easier for me to take appointments on a "catch as can" basis now. You might have better luck with that.

The thing is, most of these guys who are nervous aren't computer nerds. And in some cases, their wives or significant others are!

Think about it: if you make a suggestion here, it's going to reach guys who already either have or have figured out how to have the privacy to pursue this hobby on line. How does one reach those who haven't? That's our challenge, as SPs.

So, why advertise in the Sun, then, if it's such a pain?

yes, you are right.

I continue to be amazed at the number of people who would never
buy a car without ten consumer reports, and will read every last
ingredient on the back of the breakfast serial, and yet... shell out
hundreds of bucks to Mr. Gates for a software upgrade just because
of a TV ad.

HEHE. Here's the deal. When you speak to the SP use an english accent. If you can't, practice. Changes the tone of your voice and use an alias. If she calls back and your SO answers you're in the clear man. Wrong number.

Shit I would do it as joke man. I'd call 50 escorts in one day just to get the record on my phone, gay escorts and TS' . When she's googling it. I'd start laughing my ass off. If she mentions anything, I'd tell her I did in on purpose and I'm going to do it again next month to drive her crazy.

Ha. Though I don't recommend it for everyone depends on your relationship.

Cheers

As I noted, it's busier now than ever.

My regular base was, on average, older in age -- and this past year or so, I've lost a significant number of regulars to age-related illnesses or fatality.

I'm rebuilding.

That's very very interesting. Is it improper for me to ask what age range you are talking about?
