A lead??....
..they never had the lead tonight
..and they did not deserve a better fate. They played one period of good hockey, the 2nd. Still they were squeezing the sticks very tight, and Brodeur did make some good saves. But the 3rd was a farce, 2nd game in a row where the PP coughs up a shorthanded goal. And a stat that killed me..the Leafs have 7 PP goals ..and have given up 4 on shorthanded by the opposition. That gives their pp a whopping +3 over 12 games. Even when the Leafs sucked,in years past, their PP is what gave them an outside chance, now with that dried up, this team is gonna start dropping faster than the US dollar...maybe if they really start losing, the real rebuilding that this team has needed for decades can begin. Trade Sundin somewhere where his talents can really be on display. I saw at least 3 or 4 plays he made tonight, creating excellent chances for his linemates, and all you get are cement hands. And Blake is a total bust, he is a major reason for the shortie that was scored tonight, lazy backchecking effort. I still plan on being on this earth for another 40 yrs or so...but the chances of the Leafs even making it to the Finals, let alone winning, seem to be about as good as my chances of winning the 649
