What do we have to do to take our city back from these misfits at Silly Hall who are screwing up royally. My latest rant is commuter chaos. Have you seen Yonge St right now in midtown? Down to one lane each side. Hell even the emergency vehicles are having a hard time getting through. Not to mention they are absolutely killing businesses who have had their sidewalks reduced next to nothing so people don't even want to walk there. Great timing as well, right in the middle of a recession. No wonder businesses are leaving Toronto in droves. Look, I know the work has to get done but they started doing this watermain work in this area last July. The workers work from 8-5 and half of them just stand around picking their asses anyway. How about getting a night crew to speed up the process? Is anyone at City Hall questioning timelines, budgets...probably not. Accountability is a foreign phrase to City of Toronto staff.
And these bike lanes how fucking ridiculous. I know they have an environmental agenda but now they are closing down driving lanes in favour of the bike and moped lane - Jarvis St and one of my regular routes, Dupont St for instance. Between all the construction and shut down lanes for cyclists these clowns have created an absolute commuter nightmare. When are these numbskulls going to clue in.......people need their cars. Seniors who can't walk long distances need cars to run errands. Small businessmen and sales people need their cars for travel. Businesses need delivery of goods. How does it possibly help the environment to have all these guys idling away in traffic?? The last I checked driving a car wasn't an illegal act. You'd never know that in Miller Town.
Finally my favourite one of all. the 5 cent tax on plastic bags. Anywhere you shop they now have to ask you do you want a bag. "its going to cost you 5 cents each" they reply. Well here is what I'm doing to get back at these environmental enforcers. Every time I go to to a store I get a bag, even if its to pick up 1 item. If I go for a full grocery shop I ask for double the amount of bags I need. I then go home and put every bag in a garbage bag, instead of what I used to do which was put them in a recyling box (as plastic they are recyclable). Just my form of civil disobedience. I urge others to do the same just to send a message to the morons - your policies are dogshit!
Now I feel better. Time for an MGD. I better get it while I can sooner or later they'll be outlawing beer
