I don't know if this is an isolated issue, but for some reason my webrowser will not display any link from Craigslist. I am able to view any other webpage I choose so it cannot be a connectivity issue. I initially thought it was an issue with the craigslist site, but I have seen recent threads where people are posting..so it must be up. Any thoughts?

I am using Internat Explorer through Rogers as my IP. I know it is not a pop up blocker issue as that has been turned off.

i had the same problem using IE, but craigslist worked fine with FIREFOX
Was thinking the same thing.
Why do people still use IE??????
Either Firefox or Opera are BETTER.
Haven't used IE in ages.

I cleared the Cookies and Temp files...still no luck. I understand there are those that are quite happy with Firefox...I am comfortable enough with IE and up until a couple of weeks ago...I had no issue visting Craigslist. No new Software has been added or settings changed in security. I still cannot access the site and it is the only one.

May you accidently added the site to " Ristricted site "
Check "TOOLS" "internet option" " Security" select " Ristricted site " then click on Sitels see of CL is listed there; if it's there then remove it

I checked the security levels and restricted sites and nothing is there. The page I am trying to access is www.craigslist.org. There error I get is as follows:

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected.

Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.

Try this link: http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites.html

Might be a DNS problem - I get the same messages if I type in just the IP address.

Also check if you can PING the site.
Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt
At the "c:\>" prompt, type ping www.craigslist.org

You should get back something like this (but with www.craigslist.org)
Mostly you want to see that you get successful replies.

[localhost] ping en.wikipedia.org
Pinging rr.pmtpa.wikimedia.org [66.230.200.100] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 66.230.200.100: bytes=32 time=57ms TTL=44

Reply from 66.230.200.100: bytes=32 time=54ms TTL=44

Ping statistics for 66.230.200.100:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 54ms, Maximum = 59ms, Average = 57ms

I typed in the IP at the address bar and got the same issue. I tried the ping...and it said that ping was not a recognizable internal or external command. I agree that it has to be something with the DNS..so we are on to something I hope..just still not working

Shamrock,
Why not just download Firefox and give it a try.
It will only take a couple minutes and then you can tell us if FF got you into that site.
Always nice to have a spare browser.

in my pants, where there's a party
Here try this...

If it's a DNS resolution issue, running these 2 commands from the command prompt should help:

netsh interface ip reset log.txt[enter]
ipconfig /flushdns [enter]

Restart your browser and try again.

Also, is your computer directly connected to the modem, or are you using a router? If it's the latter, might be the router blocking or not resolving DNS... powercycle it, or check for firmware updates.

Thank You Dreamblade, that did the trick...I am connected through a wireless router and I powered it on and off and that fixed the issue. I appreciate everyones input in resolving this issue
