La la land
:( Telemarketers.

Oh I do know that some of these people need the real money ( full time job) or are in it for the extra cash to pay rent. Others join or work for many other reasons. Few are there just for the curiousity.

There are the local needy agencies that want to collect my clothes. These garments I still have from five years ago that is not wearing out that quickly. Sure there are some shallow people that change clothes by the year or season. But office people I can see why they must change clothes constantly.

But what bothers me about Telemarketing is the organization or creator; not the caller; I bet if it was a legal corporation it would be in the top 50 companies in the world next to Chop Shop auto Rings.

But what gives me jitters or rage is that where they get our information from. And how they call us. Believe it or not today I got a call asking me if I travel. Then they ask me to go to Breezes or some other corporation that owns resorts in the caribean. That is right the hotel that I went to the Carribean was owned by Breezes. What reason or right do they have to sell my info to some telemarkerter? or contract a telemarkerter to call me on their behalf so I can go to their hotels.

The funny thing is how they switch or change their format in calling. " We are doing a survey" then after 5 questions "oh can we enter you in our contest?". Points to the genius who came up with that one. Some of the questions are so stupid I might just learn to give my self a blow job or protaste check up. And since I prefer a second opion I will stick to
fingers instead.

We are all aware that these poor folks are calling from a dungeon in India. I can even hear the background noise. The next problem of this industry is the machine they use to call us. (( Personally I think there is money in this machine if perfected )). The situation is these machines call us ; after being programmed with phone numbers; then try to connect us with one of the desk/phone people but most times it fails to do that and one thinks it's a crank call when no one asnwers us. I must get like five calls a week when I am home. I am sure when I had a day off on the weekday it rang at least twice.

So for those who are seeking privacy there is only one way. Don't give your info to stores when returning items; buying tickets for a car prize; hotels;( I prefer mama's and papa's motels) or regular sales people in dealerships or stores, Futureshop and Bestbuy are the biggest gatheres I think. MAybe the airline is doing this too? Soon the cops will sell our info. Actually now that I think of it the Police department call my parents for donation to
send a kid to a circus. I wonder where they got the info?

Death to the Sith Telemarketers Lords.

I used to do telemarketing for four months, and believe me, it is the WORST job ever!

The people working there are either immigrants supporting a whole family doing this, unedcuated people who are unable to find anything better, or young students.

There is constant pressure to crank out the sales, and, of course, the neverending abuse from those we call.

Before being a telemarketer, I used to HATE telemarketers, but even then, I never took it out on the callers, who were only doing their jobs.

The very best way to handle the call is this way:

Caller: "Hello, my name is so and so, and we're callilng to ..."
You: "I appreciate the call, but I'm not interested. Could you please take me off your list?"
Caller: "Certainly. Have a good day."

You don't know how much this politeness means to them, when everyone else is either hanging up on them, cursing at them, or just being a jerk. Also, NEVER listen to an entire pitch if you know you're not interested. It's much better for the telemarketer if you interrupt them early.

When they don't answer the phone immediately, it's not because of the telemarketer, but the automatic dialer that they use.

they also use blocked numbers and whenever i pick up no one answers... i once let a "private number" call ring and ring and lo and behold a voice recording pitching some product... but whenever i pick up, there is no answer... these fuckers deserve to have their balls pressed with a garlic presser... wasting my fucking time... any company that uses telemarketing services is not getting a red cent from me...

You can contact Bell who will provide you with information on how your phone number can be removed from most of the Telemarketing lists out there for FREE. It takes a few weeks to process and you must do it every year.

You are lucky if this works. Sometimes they don't want to take no for an answer. If they persist after I say something like this, I just tell them
"Sure, can you give me a second? I'll be right back." After you say this, you put down the phone and wait for the beeping... :p

The absolute worst are the automated messages left on my CELL!!!. When it is on and I miss the call I have 2 pay 4 it.

Now that is wrong and those companies are racking up my bill without my consent.

At least when people call your residential line it's free.

Live telemarketers don't annoy me half as much as unsolicited faxes and text/voice messages to cell phone mail box. With this, the cost is born on the back of the receiver, especially if you check messages directly from your cell during peak hours.

Regarding the faxes, what'll stop 'em real quick is if you reply to the ad with a multi-page fax of your own... conveniently taped together, end to end to create a continuous loop. :D Hit send and watch it go. *lol*

I'm always considerate and do this all the time. Sometimes, though, it's so obvious they're reading from a script that they don't realize I'm talking or are simply ignoring what I say. When they finish by saying, "Can I send you xyz (or whatever they're pitching)?"
I end up having to say, "Were you listening to me???"

I thought these were illegal?

Ever notice the fine print when you sign up for credit cards, newspapers, magazines, etc.? They put you on mailing/call lists and you have to call them to take your name off of them.

I can't be bothered with telemarketers, I'll often just tell them I'm not interested & hang up .Occasionally I will ask to speak to the superviser and insist that I'll wait, it causes disruption at their end, but the way I look at it, they disturbed me, so its fair game.WHen I do get to talk to the superviser I ask them how theye got my name , number etc, I ask them if they enjoy being bothered when they're in the middle of dinner etc.I then ask for their name, the name of the comany they work for, phone numbers , who they are soliciting and so on.I tell them that I have documented all this information, and for them to make sure my name is removed from their list & not to bother me again..
Just recently I had a call, I put the phone on speaker and just listened while He went through the speel, at the end he kept saying Hello, hello until finally hung up.
I truly feel sorry for the people on the phone trying to make a living, and as well these scum comapnies have likely filled their heads with all kinds of wonderful ideas on how succesful they could be, I dont feel sorry for the tele company or the company they are representing, if no one purchased or listened to them , telemarketing would quickly end IMO.

If you are as angry at unwanted telemarketers as I am, please help me put a stop to them by sending one dollar to:

Bottom line: The millions of lines and long distance calling hours these outfits pay to the Telecom companies goes a long way to subsidizing the cost of phone service for the rest of the poplulation. Before you wish they all disappear, ask yourself where the Telecom giants would turn to get back some of that revenue? Do you think they're just going to go to their shareholders and say "look on the bright side, at least you wont' be getting those calls..." when the revenue is down?

The companies have put a fairly modest price on control of your phone - $5 a month for Call Privacy, requiring an pass code so only invited callers can ring the phone - but it's not worth it to most people, or they're too lazy to set it up.
