Terb Etiquette....

in regards to running into other terbees....I guess the only way we would recognize one another is via attending the terb parties...I've bump into a few terbees now since I attended the party...well here's a specific scenario...

I recently went to a SC with some friends and I saw 2 terbees at the SC that I recognized from the party...one was a dancer and the other a patron. I was nervous b/c none of my friends know I hobby besides occasionally going to a SC for a beer. I was envisioning the other terbees coming by to say 'hey wrong hole, how's it going?'.....I did not want to explain to my friends what Terb was and that I am a member. Luckily they didn't...I just smiled at them and cheered on the dancer(terbee) when she was performing her stage show. Then one of my friends asked the dancer(terbee) for a vip dance....I was thinking....Oh shit!!! In my mind, she would say..'so you are a friend of wrong hole'....and my bud would be puzzled and the dancer would explain Terb....so I'm a little bit freaked out....but what ended up happening is....

...my friend walked out of the vip with a big ass grin and said he had the most fantastic dances....he wouldn't shut up the whole night about how fantastic the dancer was even after we left the SC and gone to a bar to meet other friends....so obviously the scenario in my head never happened which is a relief....

But for the future....this is my thoughts on it...I would say hi to all terb members if I saw that they were by themselves and I was by myself....otherwise I prefer and I would think other terbees feel the same way that we don't acknowledge each other if we are with other people(not just in SC's....restaurants, bars...anywhere)....

I just want to know the opinion of other members and how they feel about it....

Good topic! Just remember that even though someone may appear to be alone their SO/spouse/friend/parent/etc could have left their side for a moment. It may make for awkward explaining if they need to quickly devise a cover story once that person returns. I think it probably best to just smile.

TERB Encounters

I've met some of you at a couple of the TERB parties and, if we meet at an SC, I wouldn't mind if you said hello. Some of the friends I visit SCs with already know I'm on here (some are here too) and even those that don't know, I don't mind if they find out.

If I was walking through the mall with my Mother or Grandparents, on the other hand, I'd prefer you control your urge to "out" me.

There is a core of about 8-10 very good friends I have met over the years through either Terb or CanBest, and we all say "hi", have a beer, assess the nearby talent etc but I have never come across them in a non-strip club setting. If someone greeted me outside a club, I'd have no problem saying "hi". If it were awkward timing, I'd just lie to whomever I was with that they were a business contact or whatever. no biggie.

Just as an aside, when it comes to dancers, etc, TERB and other boards should be like Fight Club. Rule #1: Don't talk about Fight Club.

One of my friends accidentally "outed" me in a stripclub to about half a dozen girls. Since they know him, and what his preferred dancer style was like, I got "painted with the same brush", and a few of those girls still will not dance for me, although some will, as long as I "promise not to post it". No use cramping others' styles out there though.

People need to keep in mind RESPECT is a word we must keep.

You see someone in a SC or even a resturant. A simple hello or a nod is more then enough. Would anyone like to be out with, oh say, their mother and have an SP or Client come running up and plant a wet one on them??

I saw an SP who I've seen several times in a store the other day. We said "Hi" and chatted briefly. It was no big deal then both of us we alone and I don't have a SO to worry about. She ended it by saying give me a call (in the business sense) which I will do soon.
