I was just wondering if there is anyone else out there that feels the lounge has turned into a forum for stupidity?

I find myself visitin terb less and less soley because of the (what seems to me to be) all the dick measuring threads (AKA Flame wars) or the completely non releavant threads that are being being posted.

I mean COME ON GUYS!! I feel dumber for having read half the stuff that gets posted nowadays.

Part of the problem is the mods (specifically Sheik and Goober). They encourage it by locking threads and overreacting. That's what fuels the fire and heightens the emotions. Shit disturbers and flamers are specifically looking for a negative reaction.

I agree to a certain extent, but this is the lounge, and they say to post "other" things here, so we see people filling the void of substantive questions, non-hobby related here.

Well I don't have a daughter, but if I did, I would hope she would have the good sense enough not to date a guy with such bad taste that he would admit to being an Ottawa Senators' fan.

Yeah, that pisses me off. I had a great Trevor Kidd joke I wanted to use, but I thought it would just inflame the situation.

The joke was "Did you hear that Kidd was so distraught after last night's loss that he tried to kill himself by jumping into traffic? He's okay though. Two cars, a bus and a tractor-trailer went between his legs."

Do you guys think that would inflame the situation?
