Sure some on here will diff. agree with this, I think it went too far but then yeah 10 times is ALOT.

Its too bad he needs to be locked up the rest of his life thou. But with him it was just a matter of time before he killed somebody.

IDK, but hes gone.

GEORGETOWN, Texas (AP) -- A Texas man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for his 10th conviction of driving while intoxicated since 1979.

Prosecutors say 53-year-old Anthony Lynn Falco of Taylor waived his right to a jury trial and pleaded not guilty to the felony charge over the June 22 traffic stop.

A statement Tuesday from the Williamson County prosecutor says tests showed Falco's blood alcohol content was 0.17 percent, more than twice the legal limit for driving in Texas.

Prosecutor John Bradley says Falco had nine prior DWI convictions and served prison terms from five to 10 years. He also had convictions for theft, family violence assault and forgery.

Good... but it's still not long enough. Once is stupid... 10 times is retarded.

Not long enough  The guy is 53 years old, 60 years in Texas has to be at least 50 years before release.

In prison you do not get the best food, health care, etc.

That guy is going to die in prison.

Sorry... I might understand your point up to the second or third conviction... but not the 10th. BTW... the health care and food options are probably far better in prison then most hard working low income families could ever afford.

What would he get in Michigan 3 months.

Based on his track record listed in the article the guy doesn't get it.

Yes, he needs to be put away before he kills somebody but so far it sounds like hes hurt nobody.

I knew guys who had drinking problems, for the most part they are good guys but they just can not stop drinking. Like the guys who can't stop eating.

He should have been made to get medical help. Why not lock him up in a hospital-oh, that cost more money.

In Michigan, IDK what he would have got but I would hope this state has a program for guys like him to get medical help.

Drinking is a disease-thats not from me, thats what the doctors claim.

BTW--Texas is a bad ass state for prisons, don't be so sure the prisons are that nice. I bet theres no A/C even in there and it gets HOT in Texas.

I have never heard of someone over eating then having the over eating causing an accident that kills someone.

He had 10 years before and he didn't learn anything. It is harsh but the guy clearly doesn't get it.

Think about this/ if the state can afford to lock him up until he dies, 20-30 years from now, why could they not afford to lock him up in a hospital for 2-4 years.

I like to know what the state of Texas ever did-or did not do-to help this man stop drinking. Was he ever in a hospital for his drinking problem, or did the state just keep locking him up in jail each time?

Someone has to want to stop. Stays in jail for 5 -10 year didn't help him, it looks like he didn't want to stop.

It is the same deal with the rich girls. They have abuse problems but until they want to stop they aren't going to stop.

Why the hell did the state have to do anything for him? It's just dumb luck that he never killed anyone. It's his 10th time CONVICTED. He probably drove drunk hundreds, if not thousands of time.
If he killed your child next time, you would be screaming "why didn't the state do something about it."
Fuck him, let him rot in prison.

It's been good to know ya
I'm sure they were not keeping him intoxicated in prison. He had 10 years already. That is more than enough time to get it out of his system. If he killed any child I am sure many would be pissed that they did nothing more to stop him and keep him from driving again. He obviously just did not care.

Maybe he should have lived on Norway:

"When it comes to drunk driving, Norway has the strictest laws in Europe. The maximum blood alcohol content is only 0.1 promille (which is only a small glass of a weak drink) and there are hefty punishments for violators."

Number 1, I am all for lowering the blood alcohol level even more, Japan has a .03 level which I believe is prefect.

Number 2, why not have some type of sensor in ALL cars to detect alcohol? Safety wise, yes, it could be a problem but the car could be still be set up to run but it likes calls the police and saids "this car might be driven by a drunk driver" Then the police could go check the car out, fast.

Some places are not like Toronto, if I lived there, I would drive much. Some places have no public trans, no cabs either.

Its too bad the state of Texas needs to spend who knows how much to lock this guy up for the rest of his life. I just hope they did try to first spend a little $$ to try to help this man before they decided to spend much more $$ to just lock him up and throw away the key.
