Hi MissCroft. I think the best way to "thank" Harper is to work to vote him and the Conservatives out of office. And from recent polls, it just might happen!

No, it isn't. Prostitution is legal in Canada, and always has been. But since everything surrounding it is illegal, it's difficult to work.

i actually dont blame harris for everything..........however i do believe that he is a repugnant human being, who showed no remorse or sympathy or empathy for the native Indian who was killed on his watch or the Walkerton tragedy...........he like Harper , imo, border on being sociopaths, with no compassion, or empathy or interest in anyone but themselves...they both are empty vacuous people who quite frankly make me sick to my stomach
I don't understand this request. What exactly do they think they will get if you're not paid? If the transaction is illegal, and they don't want to cross that line, the solution is simple: you don't get laid. If they're ok with that then by all means have all the blue balls you can handle.

Prostitution is in effect illegal, with prostitutes having immunity from prosecution. Nobody knew how Bill C-36 would be enforced and so far LE is not charging anyone, so the new law maybe a lame duck one. The street scene seems to have disappeared though.

A john was not a criminal for discreetly paying for it from a consenting adult SP before (there were other laws that could snare a john).

Technically, Mr. Costanza is right. Prostitutes can work for themselves to sell sex and are immune from prosecution.
I'm a conservative; have canvassed and supported them in the past, but not supporting Harper in this next election. He may still win but I don't want him to win by any larger margin. He's a Reform Party, evangelical, tea-party loving, wingnut from the west. I don't want a gradual erosion of rights based on extremist ideology. Look at the challenge to Bill C-51 (let alone Bill C-36).
