the Conservative ship is sinking

Now it makes sense why the Libs are trying to make the "dog" thing a big women's issue. I'm guessing they saw the results of this poll and jumped on the opportunity. How pathetic.

I find the government that steals my money and passes it around to their friends and party members much more scarier than anything the Conservatives have done or said so far.

The Libs aren't making the "Dog thing" a big issue, McKay is by refusing to admit what he said and apologize for saying it.

The "Dog story" would be over already if McKay had just admitted to making a stupid and thoughtless comment and said he was sorry.

When are right wingers ever going to take responsibility for their own actions? It's always someone elses fault with them. "Yeah, sure I robbed a bank, but it wouldn't have been an issue if those damn Libs and left wing media hadn't needlessly overplayed it in the press."

I agree. See my comment in the "Trouble in the sandbox again" thread.

It wouldn't be much of a big women's issue either had McKay apologized right away ... but I wouldn't worry too much about it remaining much of a women's issue, it's soon going to become more of a credibility issue when the new spin will be McKays pathology for being a bold faced liar.

How conservatives can put up with this guy is beyond understanding ... sure, all politicians try and "spin" things, sometimes to the point of being silly, but McKay has gone beyond that point so many times. He lies, not spins, clearly lies at almost every opportunity.

The conservatives have done more for this country in the past year than the liberals did in 12. lowering of the GST, introducing stiffer sentences, not caving in to indian demands by paying 5.3billion to them, accountability act, etc

as for the dog comment; it has nothing to do with women, it has to do with 2 ex lovers who must still see each other almost everyday. Every guy and girl has something rude to say about their ex.

The conservatives have maintained a unified party that acts as one. I can not say the same for the liberals who air all of their dirty laundry and bring their inter-party disputes to the public. Also lets not forget about the corruption and the mis-management of funds. Did any of you read the papers lately and see how the liberal senate went on a spending spree with your money.

For all you liberals out there, tell me how many promises they have broken as compared to the conservatives. Tell me what have they done that has remotely touched your life, did they lower taxes? did they try to make the streets safer? what did they do?

Spend any of the GST saving yet? I think I've got $8 saved after only 4 months ... over a year that's going to be a whopping $32 or so ... Oh, but I forgot, the CPC are going to roll back that income tax cut the Liberals provided, which is going to cost me many times over that $32.

Thankfully I don't mind paying taxes so much as our services and infrastructure has to be paid for somehow.

That's true, the comment in and of itself is a minor little issue best left to the ex-couple to work out, but what's also true is that it was said in a public place, and now McKay is lying about even having had said it. McKay is a liar, that's the issue at hand.

The conservatives have maintained a unified party that acts as one. I can not say the same for the liberals who air all of their dirty laundry and bring their inter-party disputes to the public. But it was suppose to be a virtue of the CPC that they were not going to operate in secret, that they were going to allow their MPs to "air their dirty laundry" in public so we would all know they are "open and transparent unlike the Liberals".

As for the Liberal corruption, are you aware that the new legislation that the Cons are putting through actually makes it harder for us to ever again find out about similar government corruption problems like the Ad Scam affair?

As for the Liberal Senate item ... they were heading to Afghanistan to see what was really happening there, but when they got to the area the Canadian Military told them the country was too dangerous to allow them to come in (things going really well there aren't they?) So instead of booking new flights back, they stayed in the area until their scheduled flight to their next destination.

For all you liberals out there, tell me how many promises they have broken as compared to the conservatives. Tell me what have they done that has remotely touched your life, did they lower taxes? did they try to make the streets safer? what did they do?
Conservatives haven't lowered our taxes, they've actually increased our taxes from where they would have been had the Liberals still been in power.

They didn't make the streets safer either. The new laws they have put in placed have been tried in other jurisdictions, and they never work as claimed ... even when the crime rates happen to go down in one of those jurisdictions, the rates have always fallen faster and further in jurisdictions that don't have such repressive and backwards laws.

All the Cons have done is play to peoples irrational fears. If they thought that enough people believed that vampires were causing all the crime in this country, they promise to provide a garlic necklace for every citizen.

Cons love taking advantage of peoples irrational fears and misunderstanding of the issues. They're immoral vultures that don't give a shit about you, they just want power.

I guess the men and women running for the Liberal leadership are running because they are altruistic and not for power?

That's because your day job, cleaning the toilets at Wal-Mart, doesn't leave you with much disposable income. But...... at least you get to work for a company that supports affirmative action hiring.:)

I wouldn't mind if he sent the soldiers with guns in our own cities or at least if he would make sure there was some back up BEFORE he sends them to get killed. At least they would be safe. But the way Harper extended the mission in Afganistan, holding a phony debate and thus endangering the lives of our Canadian soldiers without doing any due dilligence was a disgrace. Only after 40 of our boys get killed are we asking Nato to do more...Why the fuck didn't he make sure the other countries would take more of the load BEFORE he extended the mission? He couldn't wait to put his lips right up against Bush and Cheney's ass and he doesn't care that our boys are getting killed.

Yeah....those Liberals can get a little silly at times. Sure they may have squandered away billions of taxpayer dollars, but who among us has never made a little mistake? And really...what's a few billion dollars among friends anyway, especially if "these friends" own ad agencies in Québec? Anyone has to be better than the scary Conservatives right?

Considering it's a 1% saving on GST, you only make purchases of $200 a month?????? You must ride a bicycle home to your cardboard box.

You can scoff at the savings if you want, I'll say thank you very much Mr. Harper!

Speaking personally, the escorts, dancers and MPs I see don't charge GST, so my savings on tens of thousands a month in spending are not significant, it being my dominant expense category.
Don't forget about the money you're saving on gas driving to the MP's
