Does anyone have a theory of what killed SC's in TO! I believe it began with the TO sun's investigation into lap dancing and the antics of 'dancers' who gave xxxtras in SC's the unneeded spotlight! $5- for 3 songs.............those were the days!

I certainly recall many afternoon "specials of 2 for 1" dances, but never got below $2 anywhere in the GTA

Several Factors hurting SCs

Both club owners and dancers just got greedy by raising and raising and raising their fees. In some clubs you spend $50 before even talking to a dancer. This led to a drift to MPs and SPs which are now viewed by many as a better "bang for the buck." MPs are popping up all over like weeds. The same can be said for SPs. For what you spend for a few dances, and minutes, in a SC can be better spent for a whole hour, in a better atmosphere at either a MP or with a SP. The use of the internet just helps you find what you want much easier. If the SCs in TO are hurting, the SCs in the Falls are going through the same thing, and pretty much for the same reasons mentioned above.

But isn't it the truth that MPs are slowly but surely taking the disposable income from the SCs? I use to spend $200 on dances at the Pro and now that dollar is going to assorted MPs. Hey, no need to buy some expensive alcohol and I get everything taken care of. Pretty good stuff.

Many clubs are so horrible, it is a wonder how they stay in business.

Many dancers are so awful, it is a wonder how they make a living.

Evolution must continue forward, onward and upward for the industry to survive and prosper, but throwing things into reverse, especially without a sensible adjustment in price, is a sure way to drive the industry into a depression.
