Tonight my golfing partner bailed early to seek greener pastures (the Bastard) so I found myself north (south? west? east? HTF knows – God I hate KW directions) of home and took the Wellington “Wes exit (the “t has now been restored BTW, but I sense a UofW undergrad gets a woody every time we acknowledge his act of defacement) & found myself at the root of Bridge & Lancaster (damn car completely misunderstands that cruise control is synonymous with speed control, not kidnap your driver & take him wherever the hell you feel like control).
Anyhow, to abbreviate a painfully long story, I went in to the Dollhouse & had a mediocre time. I think you might have a better time, but I kept thinking about the problems with my earlier visit & found it impossible to relax (I was going to say difficult, but that would be inaccurate & honestly I would be remiss if I didn’t note that difficult would be a huge upgrade over how I felt tonight). So I’ve done the return to the scene thing & am unsure how I feel about it.
Several staff came over to speak with me to see how I was doing (fine, thanks) & let me know how pissed off Billy was over what happened. He spent considerable time that night speaking with the police & banned the person who jumped me as well.
In a nice gesture the dancer who was involved in the incident came over & sat down with me (I guess the rumours of her demise were greatly exaggerated – or her ban was only temporary – either way no big deal). I wasn’t sure what to expect, but she delivered a heartfelt apology for what happened both from her & her boyfriend. I accept her apology & also apologized to her for the misunderstanding we had in the back that triggered the whole thing.
I doubt I’ll be frequenting the club as much as in the past (to be honest the extra bucks in my pocket kinda feel nice) since I just wasn’t as relaxed there as I once was & am not sure I will be again. I know I won’t be letting my guard down there again & checked over my shoulder several times as I left. I also made a point of leaving long before last call – so I guess I’ve actually changed a couple of habits in the course of 2 weeks.
It’s a New Year, and I consider the Dollhouse to have a clean slate with me - let bygones be bygones & move on.
