Say what you want about MAGA Trump etc. There are droves of people who are fleeing the Demoncrats due to its shift to the radical left. This lovely, bright young woman from NYC is but one of them. Read the comments they are enlightening.

In short, she is a reactionary. Yeah we know how MAGA works.
She says the far left wants anyone with a dissenting opinion to be silenced, while they just literally called certain types of left wing speech as terrorism in the national security directive issued last week. LOL.
By the way the dems are not "the left".
Dems span a wide range of political beliefs that cannot be lumped into "the left".

Kirk, the "I was a leftie once, but then I realized how awful they are" pitch is one of the standard themes in rightie online nonsense. There are similar bullshit videos several times a day.

You actually believe that this sad video is genuine?!

Funny, I was thinking how many righties have been disappearing from here of late, like they have finally realized they are backing fascism and genocide.

Either that, or someone calling themselves leftie, only to post content that constantly platforms MAGA BS.
These guys need to come up with a new way to grift. lol.

Ill be honest... the whole thing is cause an effect. For the longest time the "far" left and "far" right were always in the fringes. You can argue it was about 10-15 percent on both sides. I think what happened though is during the 2000's, politics and media, pushed "equality" specific to minority grouls too fast (rather than naturally over time). This then helped the far right grow and why centrist move to the right.

Other factors too but I strongly thing this was the main one.

To be clear, the gay/lesbian rights took decades but eventually they got them and could marry in most places, own a home, adopt, etc. But then over a significantly short period society normalized what used to be mental health as "normal" and even used things like DEI to push agendas. We somehow thought it was fine to protect the "feelings" of minorities at the expense of the majority. Best is letting males use washrooms with females.

The cherry on top was pushing things on kids...

Anyways long rant but I was bored so thought I would share. Also please note I do believe in respecting everyone, I simply think we shouldn't force minority views as aggressively as we have been.

They pushed "equity", not equality. Most people would have no problem with equality, except for those fringes that you mentioned.

The Dems are not Far Left at this point- after losing the last election the mainstream Dems are trying to shift to the Centre by abandoning the fight for trans rights, avoiding anything labelled Woke or DEI, etc. There are still Far Left Dems around but I don’t think they have much influence in the party these days.

a collective awakening to the hypocrisy of the left
hypocrisy is always present with the left

Hypocrisy? Like the way the right claims to love democracy and the Constitution, but still supports Trump's fascist attempts to destroy democracy and shit on the Constitution? Collective awakening sounds woke!

In Canada they still have influence. Major corporations still have DEI programs and gender neutral washrooms (with urinals). Maybe it has eased up a bit in terms of more Dems are moving center.

I have always been Center Left for context... fiscally conservative but socially liberal. Difference is i think it should be common sense. Have conservatives in power to help control spending and boost military. Then bring liberals in to help build social programs using that savings. At least ideally that's how it should be.

Hahaha im sure you can go back a while. I liken the situation to light and dark (yes using moving trops). You cant have one without the other but the key is the balance. We will always have fringes in society but the key is keeping them in fringes without letting it impact majority.

Seems like the divide is getting bigger though. The Mamdami left side of the party is so much more popular and more and more dems are declaring they won't take AIPAC money. That's been the right wing funding of the dems for too long.

Political assassinations, corruption, inciting riots against lawful authority, standing up for criminals while throwing law-abiding Americans to the wind ... just for starters. Who in their right mind would stand with the Left any longer? There are a few diehards but they're dissolving fast ...

You really don't think MAGA has done all of those?
wow

You're out of touch with reality. No surprise.
