OK,

I had a friend who had a near death experience recently.

Now I always imagined that when you died, it was like one big huge orgy that went on forever and everyone loved everyone and so on.

I didn't believe in hell - No, Hilter would not be getting a pineapple shoved up his ass at 4PM every day.

Well, guess what my friend tells me - no white lights, no nothing only total darkness - and he is really adamant now that there is nothing after you are gone - nothing.

Gosh, it kind of makes one want to rush to a SP doesn't it?

Your friend encountered nothingness because he was sent back to complete his life... he wasn't permitted to remember a thing...

That is why he remembers nothing but darkness and nothing...

When he does go,there'll be much for him to see and hear and know... nothing will be kept from him - nothing...

This just reconfirms my standing considered postion to engage in maximum debauchery without consderation of consequences in the afterlife while I am still amongst those not listed in the obituaries. I read the obituaries daily and it is a good day when I don't see my name listed..LOL

I think EBS's approach on this one is some solid advice!!!

Enjoy each day like it is your last - 'cause you only get one kick at the can!!

..........he experienced nothingness because there is nothing? Just a thought..........my thought anyway. I place my faith in people, and it gets tested every day.

I think I subscribe to the same thought that EBS, HowardHughes and others think, have fun, just don't hurt very many people along the way, because when it's over, it's really over.

Coolguy.

Danger

I once had a job that gave me a number of close calls, had it for about 3 years.

There were many close calls. The thing was, that you got real used to the close calls and they didn't bug you at the time.

It was only after I quit the job that I looked back and said, "Holy smokes", I got really de-sensitized to danger.

My favorite saying used to be that my life used to flash before my eyes so many times, that when it did happen , it bored me,

Anyway... I would like to believe there is something after,

But I doubt it more and more.

Beautiful Witch,

Why are you sighing sadly? It's not like you can stop the inevitable. Live today, enjoy life, and when it all fades to black, you can't do a damn thing about it then.

Everyone will know for sure... once it's their turn to go...
True, dat!

Until then, live life as it "feels" right to you. All the preachers, ministers, holy books, gurus, etc. will give cryptic info that is open to interpretation, or which pushes their own opinion as being "right".

Those who claim to know "God's will" are the last people to listen to when searching for spiritual contentment. Far better to spend time talking with friends about the "meaning of life" than to spend your days ashamed and guilty because someone screamed at you from a pulpit every week.

If you really want to find God, leave the cell phone, the pager, the camera, the TV guide, and all the other drek behind. Go for a walk in nature with some friends, take along some food/beer/???, and just relax for a while. You probably won't have any lightning-bolt revelations, but I guarantee you'll feel more at peace with the world than listening to some scremaing thumper.

Because, some people pass on sooner than others...

Some go by their own hand and others at the hand of another...

Some become ill with dread disease, without deserving it... and those with dread disease that DO deserve it live longer than we hope for... (AIDS patients that got it through their own fault,Hep C the same way-they ASKED for it,they got it),they still live...

Because some die because of the foolishness of others, when they are at their weakest and lowest ebb...

That's why...

Roommates, I'm trying to get over it, but Beautiful Witch was bringing me down. Maybe you could help me with something, how often am I supposed to change my tampon? And, do you have any midol? I'm a little crampy!

Hey Beautiful Witch,

You are surprisingly too uptight. I was just kidding around. I suppose you think I'm using a tampon too? Don't take things so literally, sometimes it's just a joke.

No, no anal leakage happening, but I'll keep you filled in, so to speak. And I guess I believe that a joke is simply a joke, sometimes there isn't any truth behind it. But after getting bitchy like I did, I'm waiting for Roommates to mention my pmsing again. The least she could do is lend me a midol!
