As a die hard Habs fan...I must once again this year thank the Leafs organization for their half assed efforts throughout the season. Once again you have made it easier for the rest of the Eastern Conference teams to make it to the playoffs by being non-competitive.

Highlights of the season include McCabe scoring on his own net, the no trade clauses forcing the team to keep Sundin (and his subsequent injury rendering him useless), and the longest goal scored against Toakala...a fitting tribute to the Leafs season.

As fans, you should all be disgusted with a team that has done shit since 1967...a year that most of you don't remember as it was before your birth. It makes me wonder what the attraction is...this team is a relic and will be the same for the foreseeable future...

Enjoy the golf season!

It amazes me how the Hab fans come out of the closet when they think their team has a chance of winning.
I think I heard the other day that the Habs had only made the playoffs 3 of the last 8 years. This is very impressive.
Also the Habs are have 3 wins and 3 losses against a crappy team like the Leafs.

Dude...seriously...get over it, you're done. What is impressive is that the Habs are currently first in the East and have an impressive draft strategy as well as a solid front office. In terms of the Leafs...apparently 3 out of 6 is all it took.

As a Torontonian, I appreciate all the efforts by Montreal fans, to make seats readily available for us when we come to town, including just about every corporate box in the arena. It makes for a great weekend getaway....cheap tickets, cheap hotels, cheap whores, cheap food.....Go HABS!!!

Montreal is our own little Mexican getaway without the badgering of 3 t-shirts for $5....and quite a bit colder!!

2008 Habs = 2000-2003 Ottawa Senators ( or some semblence of )

Lots of Euro's who can fill the net in the regular season. I will be interested to see how they fare come playoff time. Don't get me wrong, I am not a Hab-hater, I quite like their team. I don't think they have the guns to deal with the big guys out West.

However, they were projected to be fodder this year anyways, so the fact they are where they are today is impressive in itself.

Here's to some fun hockey in the spring.

Go Sens!

I too am a Habs fan. I've always failed to understand this obsession that many Habs fans have about the TML. I hang out on a habs blog and some days half the posts are about the Leafs. There is constant griping about how HNIC is always talking about the Leafs, and then they post about the Leafs. It reminds of someone who has feelings of extreme inadequacy and who must put down others constantly to feel better about themselves. Maybe its because the Habs have been so hopeless for the last 15 years that they have gotten into the habit of feeling good about the even more hopeless Leafs.

Anyway, I hope the Habs win the Cup this year, although I think it might be too soon for this young team. And I wish Hab's fans would discuss the great play of stars like Kovalev, Kostitsyn Bros. Plekanecs, Higgins, Ryder, Markov, Komisarek, etc. etc. rather than obsess about a team that has been plagued with bad management, poor draft picks and trades for 40 plus years. And if the Habs get eliminated, I'll be hoping for whatever Canadian team is still in the running.

Well I'm not a habs fan... but over the past 40 years... Hell I'll throw the Larfss a bone.....Over the past 41 years the Habs have had a little more success than the leafs .. actually the Jays have only won one less cup in 41 years ...

I don't usually comment on pointless threads, but this one is just too retarded to pass up. A Habs fans throwing it the face of Leaf fans...wow. Do you laugh at your sister on Christmas if you get a bigger present?

..... that you feel you are a part of something.

What have you done vis a vis any Leaf fan to help Montreal.

So your dad liked them , then you did, or a friend or what.

Bottom line is that you did nothing , its not you , its them.

So shut the fuck up and when Anaheim or whoever wins this year you can then write your thread about how you are a Ducks fan like you inevitably will.

LOL you're right...it's wonderful to, as a fan, support an organization that is continuing to play...hockey that is. I'm not saying the Habs will win the cup, not even saying they will make it past the first round, but I do know they will get farther than the Leafs this year!

If that's all that matters to make you happy, I guess the NHL only needs two teams to keep you interested. More than that would probably swamp your level of intellect.

Yup, it's all about making me happy...in terms of intellect, I'm not sure that being a sports fan has anything to do with it, it's more about emotion. You can't tell me being a Leafs fan has anything to do with intellect, if it did, you would have jumped ship long ago.

You mean like the big thud when Leaf fans jump off the bandwagon every April?
