The Pop Shoppe is back?

I thought The Pop Shoppe folded years ago. Then yesterday I was in a new 24 hr store near my house and saw the cooler half full of Pop Shoppe. Been thinking of going back there ever since to grab a case of Cream Soda. I use to love that stuff. Years and years ago.

Any other Pop Shoppe fans out there?

They were around, then they were nowhere, now they seem to be back in a very limited way.

I saw one on Queen West by the Drake Hotel. And I've seen those familiar bottles with the red & white logo on them in a few stores. I used to love going to the Pop Shoppe with Dad. We'd pick up a case and fill it up with various flavours; grape was my favourite.

I was tempted to buy a few bottles when I saw them, but I don't really drink pop anymore and I figured I'd find it too sweet nowadays.

This weekend for sure I'm grabing a couple dozen. Cream Soda, Grape, Lime Ricky, Root Beer... oh yah!

They are back...... sort of............

Yes Pop Shoppe is back, but only lable rights only. A company started last year in Kitchener to produce pop under the the Pop Shoppe lable and distribute in Canada. They have the same logo application and bottle shapes. They came out last year at the food and beverage show to re-introduce themselves. Everything retro is coming back. On a side note they are doing a great job replicating the old feeling of the Pop Shoppe.

If I remember correctly, Eddie Shack, was either a part-owner of Pop-Shoppe or their No. 1 SpokesPerson/Promoter....Eddie was the best

I also think it was part of the Poineer group of companies.

I still have a case of 24 red and white label glass empties in the original hard plastic carton. I wonder what the deposit refund would be today? I liked their ginger ale and cola. The root beer was nasty. I understood that the other flavors were for girls
