I hate showing. I mean, who really enjoys it? but I have to say there’s something very satisfying about seeing a clean driveway with no snow and then when you look around you see all your neighbours are covered in snow, or the only clear spot in the driveway is what was under their car. It is sometimes to the point where I want to do other driveways as well. I have lent out the snowblower a few times but have thought about just doing the driveways myself for the satisfaction of seeing the driveway clean.
I don't know. It's weird. I hate it but love the results. Anyone else?
I too have both a love/hate relationship with shoveling snow.
When there is a large or long snowfall I enjoy getting bundled up and going outside to move it. I use a snow scoop and shovel, but mainly the scoop. At the end of the driveway I tend to move the snow to the side of the driveway that will have the least impact from the plow, otherwise I end up re-shoveling it once they have passed. I find that when shoveling snow you can think about different things and just enjoy the peace and tranquility as well as the fresh air.
Sometimes I would clear the neighbors driveway if I felt like it.
When there are huge snowfalls my other neighbor with a snow blower would sometimes clear my driveway, or at least the end of it. When the first big snowfall hits there is usually a neighbor who has bought his first snow blower and wants to play with it and clears the sidewalks, multiple driveways, paths in parks, etc.
Times I am less enthused are when it is one snowfall after another, or early in the am when I need to get to work.
Now that I have moved in to the city core there is a different set of rules at play. I still need time to see how that plays out.
