this is a very complicated conflict that goes back about two centuries, in that the Chechens have always resisted Russian rule and the first time around it took Moscow about 40 years to subdue them, throw in the fact the Chechens are divided themselves in that there is a faction that is fighting the Russians who are split amongst suicide bombers, kidnappers and hostage takers, but there is also a group that is fighting the Russians that wants nothing to do with the terrorists. A second group is helping the Russians and a third are simply organized crime types. The Chechen people over the past decade have suffered horrific treatment under the Russian military, Moscow seems intent on killing as many Chechen civilians as possible, sending their own young kids to die in a pointless conflict and putting its own citizens in danger with little or no regard for their safety.

One other thing people should remember, the Chechen rebels are mainly Muslim who use to move herion from Afganistan to Western Europe. Bin Laden and Al Quada taught these idiots well.
Only a coward takes children as hostages.

Can you please tell me where you get the idea that being a Muslim means that we are all terrorists that will kill at will, take children as hostages and deal drugs?

I am a Muslim and I would love to line these "idiots" up against a wall and torture them to teach them a lesson.

Terrorism will not solve the problems in the world; it has not helped the Irish, the Spanish and certainly will not solve the issues that currently exist in the Middle East and other parts of the world.

Islam, the religion, has nothing to do with what these guys are doing. I have read the Quran about 5 times and nowhere does it say that you will go to heaven if you kill anybody. It actually states the opposite.

It’s the power hungry assholes that control the minds of these young kids. These so called leaders should be caught and tortured for doing what they do.

The issue is how to catch them.

Islam is supposed to be a peaceful religion and it is very frustrating to see these so called "leaders" using my religion to gain more power and to cause havoc in our world.

I completely agree with you. I am sick and tired of all the leaders in my community just sitting on their asses and sticking their heads in the sand. Their inaction just makes things worse because these low life bullies are getting away with murder and making life very diffiicult to live.

I would love to be able to go to Iran or Iraq for a vacation. Just to be able to see where my ancestors come from. But I do not speak the language. I look more European than Middle-Eastern. I would probably have to hire a "guide" and pay a lot of "bakshish" or bribes just to get anywhere.

I guess I am just frustrated because it's very difficult to do anything about what is happening and the involvement of children made it even worse.

It seems the horrible conclusions that so many thought was innevitable has come to pass. The dead count is at 150 from latest reports but from all the choas I wouldn't be surprised if it goes past 200. More than 600 injured as well.
Damn cowards these terrorists are.
