Tiny bit of Firefox help

I get this message every so often.

Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.

How do I shut off Firefox without restarting the CPU.
I've done it before by typing something in "RUN", I just can't remember.

Windoze? Open up Task Manager go to Processes tab and look for firefox.exe then simply click on it and then press End Process.

It's still sitting in memory and therefore won't start up again. Kill it, and restart.
