Yes. The government is too lazy and stupid to start handing out tickets the same day as the law takes effect. I believe the official date was posted as Feb. 1st, but I will have to double check.

Edit; Yes, Feb. 1st is the official date. They want to give people time to outfit their vehicles with the handsfree devices before they start handing out tickets.

The law has been in Nova Scotia for 1 1/2 years and almost 5000 tickets handed out. nice cash flow. Any decline in traffic deaths or accidents recorded. I'll bet you none.
