I read some of his books in the early 90's and applied some of the information. i t was good stuff and served me well, but is not something I would pay x hundreds of dollars for in real life.

Basically it is about setting some goals, getting off your arse and achieving your goals. This is what makes you successful - Yes, but obviously lots of people don't do that!

With Tony Robbins, you get out of it what you put into it. Is he to going to make a worthless life worth living? No. But if you listen and follow his stuff, you may find some strategies to live better than you are now. I'd strongly recommend the torrents.

A relative of mine has started a self help website of her own to do with offering advice on how to succeed in the corporate world.

It's a long horrifying story.

Basically she is now homeless, jobless, I have leant her money (which she has not and probably will not repay), my sister has leant her even more money, my brother in law offered to hook her up with a guy at Health Canada who was looking for a contract worker at 85 grand a year, but she said she was too busy with her stupid fucking idiotic website, she called me wanting to move in with me cause I live by myself (no because I also work at home and I have a GF.)

I could rant for days about her.

Now, I ask you, what person in their right mind would subscribe to a website run by a person who has no job, has been kicked out of their apartment, yet somehow thinks they will be able to give you advice on how to succeed in the corporate world???

I have read one of his books, listened to ten hours of tapes and seen him live

People get energized when seeing him live because they want to believe

I learned very little from his books just a few life skills that seem reasonable if applied

He is a master of self marketing and waaaaaaaaaay overcharges for his seminars because he knows there are rich and desperate peoples who will pay and he will gladly take their money even if they cannot afford it because he is an asshole

Oh yeah, a lot of what he says is gobbledygook that is designed to sound like he is smart and if you follow his path one day you will receive the wisdom to decipher his crap and become happy and rich

Well, it's a free country.

If Tony Robbins is selling his crap, and there are willing buyers, then que sera, que sera.

He's careful not to make promises he can't deliver on; he only sells hope.

As for "there's a sucker born every minute," the same could be said of us.

I would not advise someone to buy into his crap, but if they absolutely have to, what can you do?
